I made this hand bag for a friend. It is a papurrí of fabrics, denim, upholstery, canvas, and applications of flowers and dragonfly; on the dragonfly I used embroidered letters with the name of my blog.

Bolso de Patricia, para llevar las labores, por la parte delantera unió tiras de tela de distintos colores y por la trasera con cuatro bloques de log cabin, todo alrededor le puso una tira ancha para darle amplitud, las asas de cordón grueso, como todo lo que hacen "mis chicas", me parece precioso.

Bag by Patricia, to carry her patchwork materials. In the front she combined cloth of various colors and in the back four she used four blocks of log cabin, and all around she out put a wide cloth to give more space. The handles are made of thick rope. Like everything my girls do, I thought it was beautiful.

Bolsos de la otra Ana, los hizo para regalar a las profesoras de sus niños, dos pequeños de 3 y 7 años, nos contaba que el día que tenían que entregárselo estaban nerviosísimos por la gran ilusión que les hacía, ¡que criaturas mas ricas!. Las profesoras quedaron encantadas con sus regalos y los niños pletóricos, sin olvidarnos de la mamá que puso todo su cariño en la  realización, desde elegir las telas hasta el último detalle como hacerle una bolsita aparte incorporada en la parte interior para las llaves  y pequeñas cosas de esas que todas llevamos. 

Hand bags by Ana. She made them to give to her children's teachers. She has two small children, 3 and 7 years old. She told us that the day the kids were going to give the hand bags to the teachers, the kids were very nervous because they were very happy to give them to the teachers. What beautiful kids! The teachers were delighted with their gifts as well as the kids. Not to mention the mom who put all their love in making the hand bags, from choosing fabrics to every detail such as making a separate built on the inside for keys and small things.

Bolso de Ana, lo ha hecho con la técnica barguello, el realidad era una muestra de iniciación a esta técnica. Le gustó tanto que pensó que utilidad le podía dar de aquí nació este precioso bolso, estoy segura de que será la envidia de toda la playa.

A bag from Ana made with the barguello technique. It really was an initiation to that technique. She liked so much how she would use it and decided to make it a beach bag. I am sure everybody at the beach is going to be jealous of her bag!

Camino de mesa de Julia, también hecho con la regla x blocks mini, lo quería para ponerlo sobre un mueble muy estrecho,  con esta  regla ha encontrado el tamaña que necesitaba, el entrelazado es distinto al de la cartera que tengo en este blog, como decía, admite un montón de variaciones, todas ellas preciosas y para todos los gustos, en este caso los tonos elegidos son muy acertados, combinan muy bien haciendo que el resultado sea el que se muestra, muy bonito.

Julia made this table runner with a rule for mini blocks.  She made it to put it on in a very narrow piece of furniture.  With this rule she was able to achieve the correct dimensions.  The interleaving is different from the hand purse that you can see in this blog.  As I said it admits a lot of variations, all beautiful and for al tastes.  In this case, the colors are very successful,  making the end job very nice.

Gorro tamaño adulto, por casualidad encontré en una tienda de manualidades un libro donde explicaba como hacerlos, me pareció interesante y lo compre, de momento he hecho estos dos modelos, aunque hay varios mas, este me gusta mucho, es para mi. El de abajo fue el primero y no controlé bien las medidas por lo que me quedó tamaño de bebé, al final Merche se encaprichó de el y fue a parar a la cabecita de su nieta Noor de 3 meses, está preciosa con el. Ya tengo algunos encargos, los iré mostrando según los vaya terminando.

Adult size hat.  By chance I found a book in a craft store that explained how to make them, I found it interesting and bought it.  So far I have made these two models, although there are several more.  I really like this one, it is for me. The one in the bottom was the first one I did but I did not have the correct measures so it ended up being a baby hat.  Merche really liked it and the hat ended on the head of his 3 months old granddaughter and it looks great on her.  I already have some orders and I will post them as I finish them.

Distintos modelos de carteras, todas con tres compartimentos, uno con cremallera para las monedas, en varios colores y tejidos. Muy facilitas de hacer, un bonito detalle para regalar.

Different models of hand purses,  each with three compartments, one zippered for coins.  They are done in various colors and fabrics. They are very easy to make and they are a nice gift to give away.

Cartera realizada con la regla X blocks. En el festival de patchwork de Sitges compré dos una tamaño mini y otra mediana, esta cartera está hecha con la mini, se compone de 4 cuartos que se unen haciendo distintos distinto entrelazados, allí mismo me explicaron como hacerlo, al principio suena un poco complicado,  para cuando se han hecho dos o tres la cosa se ve de otra manera.

Como veréis, en la foto de arriba, he hecho la parte delantera distinta a la trasera para que se vean dos de las múltiples formas que se pueden dar. Esta técnica me encanta y da mucho juego, es ideal para hacer caminos de mesa y por supuesto para cualquier otro trabajo.

Hand purse made with the rule X blocks. During the Sitges patchwork festival, I bought two hand purses, one small and one medium size. This hand purse is a small one and it consists of 4 squares that are joined using different interlaced. At Sitges, I was able to learn this technique. At first I thought it was difficult but after making a couple of them I realized it wasn’t that difficult.


As you see in the picture above, I made the front different from the back so you can see a different ways to make the hand purse. I love this technique! It is ideal to make table runners and of course for any other type of jobs.

Colcha realizada por Julia, se ha esmerado en el acolchado, parte ha sido libre, otro con doble arrastre y parte manual. Las aplicaciones con puntada invisible a mano. La colcha ha quedado preciosa, ha puesto mucho cariño en ella, en realidad lo pone en todo lo que hace, pero esta especialmente por ser para un recién nacido de la familia.

This quilt was made ​​by Julia. She worked very hard on the quilting. Part of the quilting was free, another double drag and other parts manually. The applications are done using blind stitching by hand. The quilt looks great. She put a lot of love on the quilt. Trabajos realizados con la técnica de aplicación a máquina, precioso, lo aprendí en un curso de Eva Gustems, fue un día maravilloso con Eva, tan cercana y agradable, por el buen ambiente entre las participantes, entre las que se contaba mi amiga Conchi  y por el  trabajo realizado. Se trata de aplicación sobre lino a máquina con puntada invisible, los detalles bordados, también a máquina con hilo de lana. Tanto el faro como la casita están realizados con la misma técnica.

Work performed using sewing machine, lovely, I learned it in a course given by Eva Gustems.  It was a wonderful day with Eva, very nice, good atmosphere among the participants, including my friend Conchi, and great work done by everybody.  The work is done on linen with invisible stitch.  The embroidery details are also done on the sewing machine with wool yarn. Both the lighthouse and the cottage are done using the same technique.

Monedero con boquilla

Monedero de Asun, hecho con la técnica Log Cabin con un diseño que ella misma creó, precioso, la combinación de colores estupenda y el detalle de la puntillita le da un toquecillo romántico. Me gusta, me gusta.....

Asun made this purse using the Log Cabin technique with a design she herself created.  It is gorgeous, the combination of colors and the detail of the lace gives it a very romantic touch.  I like it, I like it...

CASITA PARA PAÑUELOS

Preciosa casita  contenedora de pañuelo de Asun,  los pañuelos se sacan por la chimenea. Con un montón de diminutos detalles donde no puede faltar el gato. Mujer amante de los animales y en especial de los gatos, casi en todos sus trabajos, por uno u otro lado tiene que aparecer el animalillo. Según me cuenta, cuando trabaja en casa con algún proyecto de patchwork tiene a uno de los suyos pendiente de lo que hace, se le sube por la espalda, trepa a la mesa, e intenta alcanzar los alfileres y las pequeñas cosas de su caja de costura. Este animal promete, quizás llegue a ser el primer gato aprendiz de patchwork del mundo, no le perderemos la pista.

Beautiful tissue container house made by Asun.  The tissues come up the chimney. With lots of tiny details and of course the cat. Female animal lover, especially cats.  In almost all of her works the little animal appears. As she tells me, when she works at home on her patchwork projects, one of her cats will go up her back, climbs to the table or try to reach the pins and little things from the box seam. This cat is a promise, may be it will be the first cat that learns patchwork world.  We will have to follow his progress!

REGALOS DE MIS AMIGAS

Acerico, regalo de mi amiga Mercedes, ella es una virtuosa de la lagartera, sus trabajos son de una perfección increíble, verdaderas obras de arte. Conservo como oro en paño este pequeño detalle de su arte y cuanto mas lo contemplo mas me gusta.

Pincushion, a gift from my friend Mercedes, she is a virtuoso lagartera, her jobs are incredibly perfect, true works of art. I keep it like gold The more I look at it, the more I like it!

Broche, regalo de mi amiga Mª Carmen, está hecho con una cremallera, es precioso y luce muchísimo en la solapa de cualquier chaqueta o abrigo. Esta mujer hace broches de cualquier cosa, sabe bien aprovechar restos de algo o incluso elementos inservibles como capsulas de café, ella lo del reciclaje lo lleva bien.

A brooch, a gift from my friend M ª Carmen, is made with a zipper, is beautiful and looks very much on the lapel of any jacket or coat. This woman makes brooches of anything, she knows how to use any remains or even useless items like coffee capsules.  She like to recicle.

Por último, regalo de mi amiga Patricia, es un broche de madera pintado a mano. Patricia, otra artista, no hay nada que se la resista, hace todo tipo de manualidades, patchwork y hasta actúa y canta. Una mujer muy completita. Y lo que mis tres amigas tiene en común es que son una maravillosas personas. Tengo suerte de contar con ellas.

Finally, a gift from my friend Patricia. It is a brooch wood hand painted. Patricia, another artist, there is nothing that she can not make. She makes all sorts of crafts, patchwork and she even acts and sings. Very complete woman!  And these three friends have something in common, they are wonderful people. I'm lucky to have them.

Perrito monedero con cremallera, poner la cremallera tiene lo suyo, primero por lo pequeña que es y segundo por ir redondeada, pero bueno aunque se trabaje un poco a la vista del resultado se olvida.

Puppy purse with a zipper.  To install the zipper was hard, first by how small and second becuase it is rounded.  Even if it is a lot of work, it pays at the end when the work is done.  Great results

con el mismo sistema un gato, igual que en el perro, poner la cremallera tiene su pequeña dificultad, aún así me ha encantado hacerlos y mucho me temo que voy a llenar la casa de mascotas.

Precioso juego de sabanas de mi amiga María de Aldaya (Valencia), sabedora de que estas cosas me entusiasman, me las regaló, fueron bordadas por ella, formaban parte de su ajuar de hace mas de treinta años. Me comentaba que tenia mas de 20 juegos, gran parte de ellos no los había usado ni una sola vez. El gran problema de las sabanas de algodón y ademas bordadas es el planchado, doy fe de ello, tengo que confesar que harta de planchar y no dejarlas a mi gusto, he tenido que utilizar un programa de retoque de fotografías para eliminar arruguitas, lastima que esto solo se pueda utilizar en las fotos.....

Beautiful set of sheets from my friend Maria Aldaya (Valencia), knowing that these things excite me, she gave them to me as a present, they were embroidered by her, they were part of her trousseau over thirty years ago. She told me that she had over 20 sets, many of them had not been used even once. The big problem with cotton sheets and also embroidered is the ironing,  I can vouch for this.  I must confess that I am sick of ironing the sheets and at the end they are not to my taste.  I had to use a photo retouching program to remove wrinkles, too bad this can be used only in the pictures .....

More embroidered sheets, these are from my aunt Julia from more than 45 years ago.  When I was a little girl,  I loved watching her embroider, I used to spent whole evenings watching as she did it. Precious, very precious.

Os dejo este estuche para lapiceros, encontré esta preciosa cremallera en la mercería y la compre, tenia que acoplarla en algún lado y buscando, buscando  vi este estuche en un tutorial alemán, aquí está el resultado.

I want to saw you this case for pens.  I found this lovely zip at the store and bought it.  I had to use it somewhere so I looked around and found the case in a German tutorial, here is the result.

Cojin con la técnica de deshilachado, consiste en hacer la costura por la parte visible, dar cortecitos a lo largo de toda ella y frotar con un cepillo para que salgan todos los hilos posibles y le de un  aspecto rústico. Tambien le he hecho unos pequeños bordados para darle un toque mas personal.Este se lo regalé a mi gran amiga Pepi para su cumpleaños, se merecía esto y mucho mas por el gran fiestón que nos preparó.

Cushion with frayed technique.  Basically you make visible the seam on the visible side, make little cuts all over the seam and rub it with a brush leaving all possible threads outside and giving the cushion a rustic look. I've also incorporated a few embroideries to give it a more personal touch.  I gave this cushion to my good friend Pepi for her birthday, she deserves this and much more for the big party that will put together for us.

Ufff, cuanto tiempo sin publicar nada, este mes de diciembre he estado especialmente atareada y no he tenido tiempo, como se suele decir, ni para mirarme en el espejo. Ya retomada la rutina cotidiana os muestro, para empezar, un bonito trabajo realizado por Asun Villamil, este ha sido galardonado con el segundo premio de la revista Parchwork en Casa, esta revista realizó un concurso en el mes de diciembre y otorgó tres premios a los mejores trabajos recibidos. Es un camino de mesa con aires navideños, perfecto y precioso, la imagen habla por si sola.

Uff, it has been a long time since last time I published on the blog.  I was very busy the month of December and I did not have any time to do anything, not even to look myself on the mirror!.  Now I am back in my routine and I wanted to saw you a very nice piece of work done by Asun Villamil.  Her work got the second prize from the magazine "Packwork en Casa".  The magazine had a contest during the month of December and gave three prizes to the best three pieces of work presented.  It is a table runner with Christmas motives, it is perfect and beautiful.  The picture is worth a thousand words!
